Carol's note 18/08/09

Dear friends,
Sorry I didn't reply your email one by one because of the limitation of time and my English writing. I do want you know that your warm greetings always comfort my heart deeply. I am recovering from my surgery. Although my right side (my right shoulder and arm) hasn't been normal, I'm ok to go out and do some light exercise. Yesterday was my mum's 73-year-old birthday. Attached a photo with my mum and 3 older sisters in a restaurant.

About my surgery result, the pathological section shows that 4 lymph nodes, from 21 removed lymph nodes, still have cancer cells. And hormone replacement therapy is useless in my condition. So I will have 8 chemotherapies and 25 radiotherapies after the surgery to prevent a recurrence of my illness, which will take 7 months. After that, if I choose target therapy to decrease the possibility of recurrence, it will take another year. As a whole, the following treatment is about one and half years. I was upset when I heard this. However, the book "The Power of A Praying Woman" cheered me on. It reminds me that the long treatment is in His plan, and I'm in His hand. I was escaped from the depression and ready for the new chemo next Tuesday.

In addition, you might have heard the flood news in Taiwan. Typhoon Morakot caused severe damage to the southern part of Taiwan on 8th August. According to the news, at least 133 people died and over 577 people are missing. Thousands people, particular aborigines, lost their home. Please pray for my country, the people in need, and the brave helpers. Thank you.

Much love,
Carol x
